The Beginning...10th August 2010

This Is Not Bonnybridge was set up to understand how ‘insiders’ and ‘outsiders’ of the area viewed Bonnybridge through photography. It is intended to start a conversation around the hidden, historic and important spaces, and everyday experiences that would otherwise be unseen by those located elsewhere. It was hoped that the visuals would become a spark for debate about the issues that the images raise. The idea was to uncover and highlight the knowledge that residents, non-residents and ex-residents have about the village in order to create a link between the physical environment of the village and the understandings that photographers have of the locations in the photographs themselves.
